King and the Pawn

Hello~

My three friends and I were looking for a board game cafe to chill together and also to celebrate one of my friends' birthday, and ta-da! We found this board game cafe - King and the Pawn.

    King and the Pawn
    24 Purvis Street, Level 2
    Singapore 188601

    Opening Hours:
    Mon: Closed
Tue to Thur: 5.30PM to 11.30PM
    Fri: 5.30PM to 01.30AM
    Sat: 11AM to 01.30AM
    Sun: 11AM to 10PM

    How to get there:
Bugis station (start from the Starbucks outside Bugis Junction)
Follow map for the direction (just a 4-minutes walk)

We went on a Saturday and reached the cafe at ~11AM, there were already 2 groups of people there (a couple and a group of 4 pax). We stayed there from 11AM to about 11PM (yes 12 hours!). We started off with brunch (if you're interested, here's the brunch menu) since most of us didn't eat in the morning.

So here's the food we ordered (two of us got the same item, hence you only see three items here). We also ordered some drinks but none of us remembered to take photos of the drinks! 😂

Big Breakfast

Golden Beef Katsu Burger

Classic Cheeseburger

Halfway through, we got hungry. Thus, we ordered the Craft Beer Bucket (Mix any 5 bottles of beer for $60) and Truffle Fries with Seaweed Mayo (sorry, I forgot to take photo of the fries and beer bucket as we were too hungry to remember) and The King's Nachos to go along with the beer.

Overall, this is a good place to just chill with your friends on a weekend. The place isn't very crowded in the day but it gets crowded in the evening (at around 5PM). The food from the brunch menu is yummy too ~  And the staff there are very nice! So we got cakes from outside to celebrate our friend's birthday and the staff helped us keep the cakes and lit the candle before taking them out to us. They even allow us to eat the cakes in the cafe! Super great service!!!

Oh! In case you're worried about touching germs on the board games from other guests, fret not! When you return the board games, you will be required to put it on the 'return' table for the staff to sanitise every single piece of item inside the board game box (yes, we saw it with our own eyes and we respect the staff there because some board games contain many small pieces of items).
