Rakki Bowl + Cake Spade

Hello readers! Sorry for not updating for the past 4 months! Have been really really busy lately! I promise I will update this blog more often now...

Let's start from the month of July!

Was celebrating one of my friends' birthday, and we went to this new Japanese eating place introduced by my colleague (who is also a foodie) - Rakki Bowl.

    Rakki Bowl
    72 Duxton Road
    Singapore 089531

    Opening Hours:
    12PM to 10PM (daily)

    How to get there:
    Tanjong Pagar station exit A
Follow map for the direction (just a 5-minutes walk)

There were a total of four of us, and it was such a coincidence that we all wanted the same two mains. Thus, we ordered two of the following each:

Mentaiko Salmon Don (Medium)

If you're a fan of half-cooked salmon and mentaiko, this is the right main for you! The amount of salmon is generous! And the mentaiko sauce is yummy (it can be a little overwhelming if you don't eat together with the rice)!

I'm not a fan of sashimi (as I get tummyaches from eating them most of the times), but I love these half-cooked salmon! No fishy smell/taste, and the fatty-ness of the salmon with the slight burnt taste just go so well together! 😋😋😋

Truffle Wagyu Don (Large)

I went for the Truffle Wagyu don! Because of two reasons - truffle and beef! The truffle taste is strong! In fact my friends said the truffle taste is a little too strong. But who cares? I love it, that's all it matters! 😁

Just looking at the photographs of the two mains make me hungry... Hahaha!

Anyway, there's only small or regular size for the mentaiko salmon don whilst for the truffle wagyu don, the available don size is regular or large. The costs for the mentaiko salmon don and truffle waygu don are $24.90/regular bowl and $21.90/large bowl respectively.

As we're using 1-for-1 deal, we just went for the larger portion ones (actually it's because we saw how small the smaller portions were)!

Use the Burpple app for 1-for-1 deals!

Do take note though - each person is only allow to use one 1-for-1 deal at any one time at Rakki Bowl. So if you have four people, you may need to ask one of your friends to get this Burpple app and pay for either monthly/yearly monthly subscription in order to use this 1-for-1 deal!

Also, the shop is quite small. Thus, it can get alittle too packed during dinner time. So do be there early, especially on Friday and weekends nights! As for the atmosphere wise, it is not suitable for chit-chatting and chilling there. Basically you can't really hear what your friends are saying even though y'all are seated quite close to one another. So chop-chop finish dinner and go to somewhere quieter to chill.

After the super shiok dinner, we headed to Cake Spade for some desserts!

    Cake Spade
    83 Tanjongg Pagar Road
    Singapore 088504

    Opening Hours:
    12PM - 9.30PM (Monday to Thursday)
    12PM - 10.30PM (Friday to Sunday)

We ordered three types of desserts - two cakes and 1 chocolate tart.

Cheesecake

Lychee Rose Cake

Hazelnut Chocolate Tart

I can't comment on the cheesecake as I can't take cheese. But I can comment on the other two desserts!

If you want something light, can go for the lychee rose cake. It has a light sweetness and the cake is fluffy. But if you want something real sweet and gao (thick), go for the hazelnut chocolate tart! All four of us needed a drink after finishing the hazelnut chocolate tart together. Haha! No joke man~

As for the environment, it can be quite noisy (due to the crowds coming in and the music in the shop). I would suggest visiting the place slightly later (probably 8.30PM and after?), especially on Friday and weekends night...

That evening was definitely a very happy one for me... Haha! 😆
